WHEELCHAIR RAMP FOR MOUNTING HORSES

We have several mounting methods available, including a wheelchair ramp and suspension lift for patients with mobility issues. Why the use of a horse is special is because the gait of a horse is similar to the human gait and can thus facilitate corresponding movement patterns in the human pelvis. We have a ramp for wheelchairs so that mounting the horse will be almost as easy as getting in a car. Our guest rooms and bathrooms are larger than the current accessibility codes call for and our lodge and dining room have plenty of room for wheelchairs to move about freely. This facility is approved by the PA Council on Therapeutic Horsemanship and features a 90+ acre farm with a sheltered arena for year round riding, wheelchair ramp and transfer platform for mounting trails. Patients range in age from four to over 70 and may even be wheelchair-bound (theres a special mounting ramp for the wheelchairs).
